Botanical Printing Workshop

Join a hands-on Botanical Printing Workshop at the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma. In this full-day session participants will learn basic contact/eco-printing techniques to transfer leaf and flower pigments onto paper and fabric, and will practice steps such as scouring, mordanting, arranging botanicals, and steaming/processing to produce finished prints.
When: Friday, July 24, 2026 — 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (local time).
Where: USAO Austin Hall / University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma, 1727 W. Alabama Ave., Chickasha, OK.
Who should attend: Open to adults and teens (check organizer for age limits). All levels welcome; bring an apron and any special fabrics or papers you want to print on if you have them.
What to expect:
- Overview of botanical/contact printing (ecoprinting) and how plant tannins and mordants create color.
- Demonstration and guided practice of scouring and mordanting fabric/paper.
- Hands-on layout and bundling of botanicals for steaming/processing.
- Finished prints to take home and guidance for continuing the practice at home.
