Chickasha, Oklahoma is located about 42 miles south of Oklahoma City, OK along Interstate 44. Chickasha is the home of the Oklahoma University of Science and Arts, the Christmas Festival of Light, and the Muscle Car Ranch Swap Meet.
Chickasha is the county seat of Grady County. As of 2006, the population was about 17,000. Chickasha has a mixed minority population of about 20%. The median family income is about $33,000. Major employers include Hermetic Switch, Inc. and the Grady County Memorial Hospital. Chickasha is also home of several small manufacturers supporting the automotive and oil and gas industry as well as farming and ranching.
